These types of drugs belong to a class called heterocyclic organic compounds. They are used in Librium and Valium, two kinds of tranquilizers. Benzodiazepines work on the central nervous system to keep a person calm if they are stressed, depressed or have bouts of anxiety, can’t sleep and have alcohol withdrawal symptoms. The drug is also given to relax muscles, induce amnesia before an operation and used before an anesthetic.

Benzodiazepines do not cause serious illness or even death unless they are taken with other drugs. Abuse of this particular drug however can be dangerous. If you suspect a loved one has been taking this drug that hasn’t been prescribed, buy a home test kit. Tests can be carried out at home with quick results.

With benzodiazepines being readily available, addicts often accidentally or intentionally take overdoses. Different types of the drug have ultra-short, short and long acting effects. If taken with alcohol or any other medication, it’s definitely not good news. It’s also advisable to be aware of this drug when out and about at clubs or discos. It has been used as a date rape drug. Benzodiazepine can be added to drinks in liquid or powder form and has no taste. Anyone drinking it will have impaired function making it easy for the perpetrator to take sexual advantage.

Although benzodiazepine can be bought over the counter and is often a prescribed drug, there are quite a few side effects like:-

  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Blurred vision
  • Slurred speech
  • Confusion
  • Weakness

As well as the above, people who take the drug can have breathing difficulties. Their coordination goes all to pot while some individuals may even become comatose. Watch out for changes in mood, disinterest in school or college, anorexia and seizures. These are classic signs that your son or daughter for instance may be taking benzodiazepine.

Once any drug has got hold of you it’s extremely difficult to give it up. Chronic abuse will result in seizures and a dependency on benzodiazepine. Don’t let the problem get this far. Home test kits are affordable to buy and will put your mind at ease as to whether a loved one is actually taking drugs or not. Although drug takers think they know best, having help from family and friends is a reassurance they are not on their own. It’s not good seeing someone be dependent on benzodiazepine. If a friend or relative seems to have any of the following symptoms, do your best to help:-

a) Fatigue

b) Vertigo

c) Respiratory problems

d) Constipation

e) Abdominal pains

f) Loss of appetite

g) Vomiting or diarrhea

Slow reflexes, hostile, erratic behavior, euphoria and mood swings are also caused by taking benzodiazepine. It’s not a pleasant feeling or nice to see someone you know who is out of control because of benzodiazepines.

The BZO test at Home:-

The first step in helping is to buy a benzodiazepine home test kit. A home test kit for benzos can be used to test for a singular drug or other drugs with benzos. A home test kit has rapid results and can be done in the privacy of your own home via a urine, hair or saliva sample.
